PHIRA Science
PHIRA Science research Tropilaelaps, a parasitic mite that threatens honey bees. I made their documentary series for beekeepers, explaining the science in clear, visual minutes.

- Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve
The brief
PHIRA Science wanted beekeepers to understand Tropilaelaps: what it is, how it spreads, how to spot it and how to check a hive for it. The audience was practical people, so the science had to be clear and show the real thing.
What I did
I planned and filmed on location in Thailand and Eastern Europe, then edited the series. Where the footage couldn't show the science, I built it in motion: lifecycle diagrams, labels and on-screen text, in one look across every episode.
The result
A documentary series on Tropilaelaps for beekeepers, with episodes shared by beekeeping organisations as well as PHIRA's own channel.
